Books and Supplies This website may occasionally recommend books and other supplies that will supplement course content. Recommendations will be identified with an icon Book icon on the lesson page.
Certificates If you need a certificate upon completion of a class, please Contact Us and choose "Request certificate" from the dropdown menu.
Courses To see a list of all available courses, click the “Courses” link in the top navigation bar. Click on the applicable title for more information on a given course.
e-Learning e-Learning programs such as StandardsLearn.org allow you to choose your topics of study at a pace that best fits your busy schedule.

You should plan on taking about 60 minutes to complete a full course. You can do it in one sitting or break it up and come back to where you left off. We encourage you to allocate a period of time that is comfortable for you – it will make the course easier, you will get more out of it, and you will have more fun.

Field trips Depending on the lesson, field trips that will take you to other online information resources may be provided in the right-hand sidebar. It’s up to you to determine what you want to explore and how much time you would like to spend.
Glossary Acronyms and terms related to the courses on this website are available via the “Acronyms” link in the top navigation bar.
Lessons Lessons are specific topics that will be explored on one or more web pages. To advance between lessons, either follow the navigational system at the top of the lesson (first, last, next, previous) or use the blue navigation buttons at the bottom of each page.
Modules Courses are comprised of a series of modules; modules are comprised of a series of lessons (topics).

To open a module, follow the “(begin)” link on the course syllabus.

Printing The screen design for www.StandardsLearn.org has been set for 1024x768 pixels. This optimizes viewing for most current monitors, but it means that some content may not print without making a few modifications:
  • To print lesson content, use the “portrait” setting for a letter-size printer.
  • To print an entire screen, change your print settings to “landscape” and reduce the page size to 90%.

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is a private, non-profit organization that administers and coordinates the U.S. voluntary standardization and conformity assessment system.
